Course Details for our Deputies Program

The Deputies Course - from the MNC04 Coal Training Package

Since 2004 we have offered this course to the public.  In 2010 the course commences with a 2-day workshop in February and the topics are run according to a schedule (which is generally 4 consecutive Thursday nights).  For any Units that have been missed, there are options that can be discussed to complete them.   For further information or to discuss your training options, please contact our office in Emerald on (07) 4982 0188.

Lennon Training offers face-to-face tutorials over the year period, on a weekly basis.  The units we deliver for this course are detailed below in the extensive form from their Competency Standard, sourced from the NTIS database.  The NTIS is the National Training Information Service that lists all competencies and the RTO's that hold the license to deliver & assess them.

• MNC.U1108.A   Apply and Monitor the Ventilation Management Plan
• MNC.U1113.A   Apply and Monitor the Gas Management Plan
• MNC.U1133.A   Apply and Monitor the Strata Management Plan
• MNC.U1138.A   Apply and Monitor Mine Transport Systems and Production Equipment
• MNC.U1143.A   Apply and Monitor Mine Services and Infrastructure Systems
• MNC.U1153.A   Apply and Monitor Mine Emergency Prep And Response Systems
• MNC.G1002B Implement and Apply Risk Management Processes

And also delivered is the Elective Unit:

• MNC.U1049.B   Support Shotfiring Operations

Candidates will be required to obtain two (2) additional Units from the list of electives supplied eg, G1008A, G1009A, continuous miner, shuttle car, shearer etc

Optional support services offered in the program (fee for services) are the Gas Ticket Preperation and Mock Oral.

Qualification awarded upon successful completion:   A Certificate in completion of MNC40304 Certificate IV in Underground Coal Mining.

The above course provides the pre-requisite qualification for applying to the Board of Examiners to sit for a Deputies ticket.
